Carrie Konerman

General Studies Teacher, First Grade
Math Teacher, Fifth Grade

Carrie Konerman began teaching at Rockwern during the 2011-2012 school year in the ECEC 3 class. After three years in the ECEC, she worked as the kindergarten aide and student teacher while she completed graduate school. Once she finished her master’s degree in early childhood education, she moved into her current role teaching first grade. Mrs. Konerman also teaches fourth grade math and enjoys the challenge of instilling a love of math in her older students.

Prior to beginning her career in teaching, Mrs. Konerman earned her bachelor’s degree in African diaspora studies from Tulane University. She also attended culinary school at the Midwest Culinary Institute and holds an associate’s degree in pastry arts.

Mrs. Konerman loves the curious minds of children and cultivating the minds of students of all ages feels more like a privilege than a job for her. She loves being a Rockwern teacher, and she loves being a Rockwern parent, too! Mrs. Konerman has two children in the ECEC, Harry and Lucy.
