After School Activities
24 - 25 School Year - Third Trimester

Registration for most activities has closed. Please see below for details.  

Space is limited, and classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. All After School Activities are open to non-Rockwern families, so be sure to invite your friends! If class minimums are not met, families will be informed in advance of the first class and will receive a refund. Unless a class is cancelled by Rockwern, there will be no refunds.

Monday

  • NEW! Theater Arts with Rachel Westheimer & Laurie Carto (Grades K-7: $105)
    Students are invited to join this additional rehearsal opportunity for our upcoming musical, “Finding Nemo Kids.” They will practice singing, dancing, and acting. Some choral music may also be prepared for off-campus performances. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 8 sessions between March 3 and May 12. This activity will not meet on February 24, March 17, April 14, and April 28.

  • Rockwern Report with Jan Tullis (Grades 3-7: $105)
    Students are invited to join our video team, which produces a weekly newscast and other video productions. A variety of student roles will be needed: screenwriters, artists, videographers, announcers, interviewers, and video editors. Students may be asked to work during recess during the week to finish production. This will be in the recently opened Symson Audio Visual Studio in The Curiosity Center. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 8 sessions between March 3 and May 12. This activity will not meet on February 24, March 17, March 31, and April 14.

Tuesday

  • Amazing Athletes (Ages 2-5: $143 per trimester, with a $20 annual registration fee) - Register here
    Join our friends from Amazing Athletes for this active and educational multi-sport session. Each class features a warm up, active education, patient sports, and a cool down. Registration includes a t-shirt! This class will meet from 3:15 - 3:45 PM. There will be 11 sessions between February 25 and May 20. This activity will not meet on March 18 and April 15.

  • Rollerblading with Patty Smith (Grades K-7: $130)
    Students will enjoy a fun and energetic hour of rollerblading with their friends! All equipment is provided. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 10 sessions between February 25 and May 13. This activity will not meet on March 18 and April 15.

  • Painting on Canvas with Diane Woloshin (Grades 1-3: $150)
    Students will learn about and practice techniques beyond what they are able to experience during the school day. Each session will introduce a different medium. Students may also choose to do independent art projects with teacher approval. This class takes place from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 10 sessions between February 25 and May 13. This activity will not meet on March 18 and April 15.

Wednesday

  • WEBBY Dance (ECEC 3 & Pre-K: $145) - Register here
    Instructors will lead a fun and exciting introduction to ballet and creative movement. Utilizing props and age-appropriate music, students will build memory, concentration, coordination, and self-confidence. Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt and non-restrictive pants, leggings, or shorts. This class will meet from 3:15 - 4:00 PM. There will be 12 sessions between February 26 and May 21. This activity will not meet on April 16.

  • Sports and Games with Patty Smith (Grades K-4: $145)
    Students will play a variety of games such as tag, kickball, dodgeball, and cooperative team-building games which will improve their skills while having fun! This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 11 sessions between February 26 and May 14. This activity will not meet on April 16.

  • Independent Art with Diane Woloshin (Grades 3-7: $165)
    Students will independently explore a wide variety of art projects, including painting on canvas and architectural models. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 11 sessions between February 26 and May 14. This activity will not meet on April 16.

Thursday

  • Spanish with Rachel Campbell (Grades K-5: $145)
    Join Rockwern's Spanish teacher, Rachel Campbell, for a fun introduction to the Spanish language and culture. This class will meet from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. There will be 11 sessions between February 27 and May 15. This activity will not meet on April 17.
